A novelty race has been proposed to take place at Lake Eyre from July 5th to 9th.
David Godfrey has proposed that this would be a great opportunity to race on a Lake that hasn't seen a regatta for some 20 years.

Letter from David:
"Just read in last week's Herald Sun about Lake Eyre being able to run a sailing regatta for the first time in some 20 years - 2010 looks like the best year for sailing in the Lake Eyre basin since 1989-90."
"I thought this would be a quite a novelty regatta to attend and tick the box that I have sailed on the Lake Eyre basin, at Lake Killamperpunna, part of the Cooper Creek."
"Dates are from July 5th to 9th July. Obviously this is subject to enough water for off the beach craft sailing, which is what they are expecting. Camping will be on the lake perimeter (with limited facilities), so you will need to be self sufficient. I gather entry will be via Birdsville Track, 160kn north of Maree, so not a lot of outback travel required."
"I am making plans to go up there, so would be interested to hear of any other like minded PT sailors who are interested in attending, please. Would be nice to have a contingent of PTs represented in such an unusual event".
